Friends of the Presumpscot River’s mission is to protect and improve the water quality, indigenous fisheries, recreational opportunities and natural character of the Presumpscot River. They do this by re-introducing historic migratory sea-run fish to the habitat above Saccarappa Falls, increasing public awareness about river restoration and the historic opportunities we are facing through publications and events, bridging the interests of recreation and fish passage and help advocates understand the nuanced factors that will benefit or threaten restoration goals, and connecting and collaborating with regional partner organizations and agencies for ecosystem-based management that includes the whole watershed.
