The Kennebec Explorer is operated by Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP) and provides low-cost and convenient community bus service for Augusta, Waterville, and nearby communities. KVCAP also offers Somerset Explorer which is a flex-route general public bus service operating in lower Somerset County in the communities of Skowhegan, Madison, Anson and Norridgewock three days a week.
